“As a DeMolay parent and advisor, I’ve seen my sons build friendships, self -confidence, public
speaking skills, and community relationship that will carry them far in employment, and
college situations. Thank you DeMolay. No other group gives boys as many opportunities to
learn, grow and lead…”
Parents Get…
VALUES – So
lid values that endorse respect of parents, belief in God, courtesy, friendship, self-respect, loyalty and patriotism are the cornerstones of DeMolay. These precepts form the basis on which DeMolay meetings, ceremonies and awards develop your son’s leadership skills. Every chapter meeting begins with a ceremony honoring our American freedoms, flag and Bible; every meeting closes with a nod of respect to parents, and a nondenominational prayer – without being a religion.

CERTIFIED ADVISORS – Every DeMolay advisor undergoes a rigorous background check by DeMolay International headquartered in Kansas City, MO. Each advisor is renewed annually, and reviewed biannually. DeMolay advisors are parents of DeMolay boys themselves, or are business and community leaders from your immediate area, your home town. Regular advisor training keeps skills sharp.
ROLE MODELS – DeMolay’s quiet role modeling is unique. The older boys who are typically state officers for DeMolay are looked at as role models and “heroes” by the younger boys. Younger boys see those who have taken on leadership roles in DeMolay, in quiet unassuming ways and emulate them. The older boy will straighten a younger one’s tie, or show the newest member the best way to paddle a canoe during a summer
trip. That mentoring guides your son with behaviors he’ll carry forward in his future.
TRAVEL – In Wisconsin DeMolay, boys and their parents can travel to other chapters
in the state – and the number of chapters is growing. During the past year, members of
Wisconsin DeMolay traveled to Green Bay, Eau Claire, Sheboygan, Kenosha, Appleton,
Rhinelander, Wisconsin Dells, Milwaukee, Racine and Appleton. Sometimes it is for
fun, and other times it is for legislative or ceremonial events, dances and community
activities.

OPPORTUNITY TO GUIDE – Both Moms and Dads are welcome as advisors to the DeMolay Chapter. Each chapter is different, but there are many opportunities to participate in Pancake Breakfasts, Lobster Sales, dances, awards nights and travel functions. Often, parents will accompany the boys on trips as chaperones. Those trips result in new adult friendships and closer bonds with your son and his friends, too.
